One day, Ryan and I realized we hadn't eaten a burger in over 2 months. Since that needed to quickly change, this delicious burger was created.
We love In-N-Out, but sadly the closest one is 600 miles away. Our favorite is the Animal style burgers. These burgers get mustard grilled into the meat, so we decided to do the same. And it was incredible! We garnished them up with BBQ sauce, drizzled hot honey, mayo, cheddar, jalepeños, pickles, lettuce, (and ketchup for Ryan and a bit mustard for me!) on top a toasted Pretzel Bun. Mmm Mmm Mmmmm.
MUSTARD GRILLED BURGER
makes 4 burgers
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb Ground Beef
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Onion, minced
1/2 tsp Tony's Creole Seasoning or Cajun Seasoning
1/2 tsp Tex Joy Steak Seasoning (any steak seasoning will work, I just love my Texas one!)
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
1 tsp Parsley Flakes
1/4 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
4 tsp Mustard (squirt and spread onto burgers)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine ground beef with all the ingredients except mustard.
Mix until all ingredients are equally dispersed.
Form into 4 patties. Press down in the middle of the patty to make an 1-2 inch circle indent. This keeps the burger from shrinking while cooking.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. (we like to add a bit of bacon grease to the pan!)
Place patties in skillet and cook until browned on bottom side, about 3-5 minutes.
Squirt mustard onto raw side and spread around.
Flip burger and cook until patty is cooked to your preference.
*If you want cheese on your burger, place it on a minute before the burger is done cooking and cover the pan with a lid. The cheese will melt completely and cover the burger.
